Busy mom Letitia Heshmat developed this app for herself and thought, "if I find it useful maybe someone else will too!"
She lives in Mountain View, CA with her husband and two young sons. When she returned to full-time work, she hired a nanny whom she agreed to pay hourly. Almost immediately, it became clear that managing payroll hours would be a challenge--there were always discrepancies in what she and the nanny had recorded for hours worked! Valuing her chosen caregiver, she always erred on the side of over-compensating, but she began to think that there must be an easier way to calculate hourly pay for household workers, one that would also reduce uncomfortable discussions around pay.
A quick search revealed that while it often seems like 'there is an app for everything', there wasn't one that suited her needs. She hired an app developer to create a timetracker for nannys and the ideas began to flow! Wouldn't it be great if the app could be used for gardeners, cleaning crews and other household staff? What if the app could notify her when her nanny "checked-in" at work? Wouldn't it be great if she could track where her nanny was with the children?
The resulting app, Helping Hands, makes life easier for people who need to calculate wages for household staff. It not only keeps track of work hours, but can also keep track of your staff's whereabouts while on the clock, remind you to pay your staff, and even complete the payment online. The app has exciting additional options like a Spanish toggle for your non-English speaking employees, and a carpool tracker for monitoring a car between pick up and drop off without distracting the driver.
The Helping Hands app can take at least one stressor off the multi-tasker's shoulders and who couldn't use that ?
